Reaching out: a meeting to advance clinical research preparedness for infectious disease outbreaks – in Brussels on 20 and 21 September 2018
“PREPARE (Platform for European Preparedness Against (Re-)emerging Epidemics) and GloPID-R have teamed up to bring you this global, solutions focused meeting, which will examine bottlenecks to (rapid) deployment of clinical research in an infectious disease outbreak and what we can do to overcome them. The meeting will be of interest to patients, researchers, regulators, funders and policy makers.”
The meeting will:
- highlight why it is vital that clinical research can be delivered in a pandemic
- showcase solutions developed within PREPARE
- share practical solutions around pandemic studies from EU Member states
- show how regulators can ensure robust yet expedient reviews during a pandemic
- describe how to work with new European legislation (Clinical Trial Regulation, General
Data Protection Regulation) - highlight the value of combining antimicrobial resistance (AMR) clinical research with pandemic preparedness.
