Seweryn Bialasiewicz

Dr Seweryn Bialasiewicz is and APPRISE collaborator, the Senior Research Scientist within the Queensland Paediatric Infectious Diseases Laboratory (Children’s Health Queensland) and an Honorary Fellow at The University of Queensland’s Child Health Research Centre.
His research interests focus on employing new technologies in both the molecular diagnosis and translational research of infectious diseases. In particular, Dr. Bialasiewicz’s research focuses on two main areas: the role of the microbiome in health and disease of the upper respiratory tract, and the characterisation and diagnosis of sepsis (blood infection). In addition, he maintains an interest in the expanding family of human Polyomaviruses.
