Marilou Barrios
Profile
Dr Marilou Barrios is a Research Fellow in Virology at The University of Melbourne and the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL). She is an early-career researcher on a project in the laboratory pillar and the partnerships, collaboration and translation theme of APPRISE.
Marilou is a molecular biologist with a research focus on designing and producing virus-like particles for development of antibodies for Alphaviruses (e.g. Ross River Virus, Barmah Forest Virus) and Filoviruses (Ebola, Lassa and Marburg). She works on a project that aims to develop better serological tests for viral haemorrhagic fevers.
