Dr Marilou Barrios is a Research Officer-Genomics at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research and was a collaborator with the former APPRISE Centre of Research Excellence.

Marilou is a molecular biologist developing a workflow for pathogen genomics projects and investigates the role of oral and nasopharyngeal microbiome in COVID19 patients.
