Gillian Scott

Dr Gillian Scott is the Education Officer for APPRISE (0.6FTE), assisting with initiatives within the Education and Training cross-cutting theme. This includes review and development of training in research related to infectious disease responses and preparedness, as well as facilitation of the APPRISE ECR-PhD Academy.

Dr Scott is a former postdoctoral scientist with a PhD from UNSW and extensive experience in laboratory-based and clinical virology research, management of biocontainment facilities and research biosafety, translational research and research development.

She has a keen interest in emerging infectious diseases research, and translation of research-generated knowledge to better disease prevention, skills-based training and outbreak preparedness.
