Cameron Simmons

Professor Cameron Simmons is Director of the Institute of Vector-Borne Disease (IVBD), NHMRC Senior Fellow and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Science. He is also Director, Oceania hub and Director, Impact Assessment for the World Mosquito Program. Professor Simmons is a collaborator on a project in the clinical and infection prevention pillar of APPRISE.

Professor Simmons’ research focus is measuring the public health benefits of the Wolbachia biocontrol approach in communities burdened with diseases transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes (eg. dengue, Zika and chikungunya).
