Dr Ben Polkinghorne is Director of Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Surveillance, Australian Department of Health. He was a collaborator with the former APPRISE Centre of Research Excellence.

Dr Polkinghorne’s research interests include applied epidemiology, foodborne disease, infectious diseases at the animal-food interface (One Health) and novel surveillance methods for infectious diseases.
