Insights into Long COVID
Research Area Leaders
Description
While international definitions vary, long COVID refers to a variety of ongoing symptoms and functional impairments resulting from an initial SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Conservatively, at least 400,000 Australians may currently be experiencing long COVID, with numbers likely increasing. In particular, there is a critical lack of information on long COVID in children and young people.
The projects in this research area help to fill an urgent need to understand the diverse impacts of long COVID and develop appropriate responses in the Australian context.
